Who is The Parallel University Foundation?

Once a book, now a foundation with a mission to provide educational resources and practical experiences to young people to help them become self-reliant

It began with a book  - The Parallel University, which came about because Richard Krohn wanted an accessible way for his grandchildren - and anyone else wishing to become self-reliant, to benefit from his life experience and knowledge.

Richard Krohn had spent 40 years as a Director in SMEs, and 35 years managing an investment company alongside his wife Gabrielle.
His interest in personal development, however, came from his time spent as a Lifeline phone counsellor, his decade as Chairman of a non-profit remote residential aged care facility, and his own personal experiences.

Today, The Parallel University Foundation has expanded beyond the book, with a large-scale mission to provide educational resources and practical experiences to young people.
Mainstream education focuses on politics, culture, technology, finance, and how you fit into society. It focuses on what you can do to change the world.

Through the Four Element Framework of the Youth Self-Reliance Project,  we aim to educate young people about planning their lives to achieve their aims in terms of personal integrity, lifestyle, financial security, work satisfaction and sense of self so they can change their world.
